Doesn't crossposting affect the counts?
Crossposting will cause an article to be counted multiple times, even though only one article was received.
For example, a single article crossposted to both comp.lang.java and comp.lang.javascript will increase the high article number in both newsgroups.
In practice, this effect is not important.
- Not that many articles are crossposted in the sample newsgroups in the first place.
- The article would have to be crossposted to two newsgroups which both appear in the
sample. This doesn't happen too often.
- Crossposts would increase the count on both the "Actual" and "Expected" servers
equally, so comparing two servers would still be valid. They should still match each
other.
